Daily Prayers

Blessed Lord, who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning:
help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them
that, through patience, and the comfort of your holy word,
we may embrace and forever hold fast the hope of eternal life
which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.

All Christians are encouraged to read a portion of the Bible each day as a part of their daily prayer routine, and so to increase in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.

But it can often seem a mystery to know where to begin, so the Church has for centuries set out a reading scheme (or ‘Lectionary’) to accompany set forms (or ‘Offices’) of prayer for the different times of day.
You will find one at the front of the Book of Common Prayer. If you would like more information about the Church’s set forms of prayer, feel free to speak to Rev’d Sue.

If you do not yet possess a prayerbook, or prefer to read online, Common Worship services of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Night Prayer for the day are available from this page.
All the readings are set out in full, together with the prayers. Simply click on the links below to choose which service you wish to use:
